Givenchy
The inverse of almost everything else we found — and for that reason the most instructive case in our LVMH sample.

Evidence for the price Below what this price band usually documents
A bag with no statement
The Mini Antigona in aged leather, $2,300. The product page is well filled: 100% calfskin, lining in cotton and polyester, brass hardware.
Where the bag was made appears nowhere in the visible text. Read only what shows on the screen and you leave without an answer.
And yet it is there, behind the page
Behind every product page sits a data sheet from which search engines and comparison services draw their details. At Givenchy it records the country of origin: Italy.
That makes this case the exact opposite of Mango. There the origin stands in plain words on the page and is missing from the data. Here it sits in the data and is missing from the page.
Both times the statement exists. Both times it reaches only half of those looking for it.
Why this is more than a curiosity
Givenchy is one of three houses in our sample that fill this field at all — with Kenzo and Loro Piana, and all three sit under the same corporate roof. Eight further houses of the same group leave it empty.
So it is not a group policy but a property of the individual sales platform. Brands that deliver the statement machine-readably do so because their shop system provides for it.
And from that follows something uncomfortable for buyers: whether you learn the origin depends not on whether the brand knows it or wants to share it — but on which tool you ask with.
Where the disclosure ends
Why the statement is not visible. For that we have no explanation, only the finding.
Whether “Italy” holds for the whole range. We checked one product.
A supplier list. Two relevant pages stayed closed to us; we record that as not found, not as not existing.
Where leather is tanned and fabrics woven.
About the house
Founded in 1952 in Paris by Hubert de Givenchy, part of LVMH since 1988. Creative direction passed to Sarah Burton, announced in September 2024, with a first collection in March 2025.
How we checked
We went through the product page by hand on 30 July 2026, opened every collapsible panel and then looked at the data sheet behind it. The bag we checked carries item number BB50TNB1QA105.
What we can document
- The data sheet behind the page records Italy as the country of origin, verified 30 July 2026
- No visible statement of origin in the page text of the same page
- Mini Antigona in aged leather, $2,300 (art. BB50TNB1QA105)
- Material stated as 100% calfskin, lining 90% cotton / 10% polyester, metal parts 100% brass
- Founded 1952 in Paris by Hubert de Givenchy
- Part of LVMH since 1988
- Sarah Burton creative direction, announced September 2024, first collection March 2025
What we cannot
- Whether “Italy” holds across the range; we checked one product
- Why the statement does not appear in the visible text
- Whether a supplier list exists — two relevant pages stayed closed to us, which is a failure to find, not proof of absence
- Where leather is tanned and fabric woven

A garment is made across several countries. The label almost always names only one of them. Which one, and what falls away in the process.
We asked twenty brands across four groups the same question: does the product page say where the item was made? The answer has nothing to do with price — and that is the real story.
Questions readers ask
Where is Givenchy made?
the data sheet behind the page of the page we checked on 30 July 2026 states “Italy”. The visible text of the page does not — to see it you have to look at the source.
Who owns Givenchy?
LVMH, since 1988.
Who designs today?
Sarah Burton. The appointment was announced in September 2024, the first collection appeared in March 2025.
Does Givenchy publish a supplier list?
We found none. Two pages that might contain one were not retrievable for us; that is a failure to find and not evidence that none exists.
