What the product page says
On 31 July 2026 the white Japanese Knitted shirt was checked, item PP2HC10006, €129.95, 50% cotton and 50% polyester.
The description says the shirt is made from a blend of cotton and a high-tech yarn knitted in Japan. The feature strip adds a marker reading “Japanese fabric”.
Both concern the fabric. The country in which that fabric became a shirt appears nowhere — zero hits for “Made in”, “Hergestellt in”, “Ursprungsland” and “Herstellungsland”, neither visible nor in the source.
The same figure, a third time
This is the same mechanism we described at GANT and Suitsupply. The upstream stage that works as a quality claim gets named — a mill, a spinner, a yarn from Japan. The assembly, which does not, never appears.
The product name makes it particularly visible here: “Japanese Knitted” sits in large type above an item whose country of manufacture stays unknown. Nothing about it is formally false — the fabric really was knitted there. It simply does not answer the question it appears to answer.
What stands in place of a list
The sustainability page names Amfori audits and a collaboration with an external traceability platform. No inspectable factory or supplier list appears on the website itself.
Audits are a statement about review procedures, not about places. They may well be worth something — they do not answer where a shirt was sewn.
