Seventeen steps, with names
On 30 July 2026 we read the page for the white t-shirt, €50, 100% organic cotton, single jersey at 180gsm. It names not just a country of manufacture but a table: process step, supplier, country, date of the last factory visit.
Spinning and combing happen in Turkey; knitting, dyeing, cutting and sewing in Portugal — each step with a company name. The businesses have their own cards with founding year, headcount, salary and working hours. For the main facility: 40 employees, salary 1,300, eight hours across five days, last visited 1 March 2024.
And then it says: unknown
In the same table sit two lines that outweigh everything else:
Ginning — Unknown · Farming — Unknown
Ginning and farming: unknown. The brand that discloses its supply chain further than any other does not know which field its cotton grew in. And it writes that down rather than omitting the line.
It is the most honest sentence in our entire research. It shows where traceability ends even under the greatest effort — and that a gap you name is worth more than one you paper over.
What a t-shirt costs
The page also carries a cost breakdown: assembly €6.30, main fabric €4.20, trims €0.40, transport €0.30 — €11.10 in total. The shirt sells for €50.
We place these figures side by side without comment. They come from the company itself, and what they mean is for each reader to decide: between production cost and shelf price sit development, warehousing, stores, shipping, returns, wages and profit. What is remarkable is not the spread but that you get to see it at all.
Where the disclosure ends
There is no consolidated supplier list.
The overview page gives only countries and counts — around 131 suppliers, 44 of them in Portugal and 40 in Italy. The names appear solely on individual product pages.
And there are no street addresses.
The factory cards give city and country. Fendi and the H&M brands are more specific on this point.
